At silver creative we know that hard work should go hand in hand with some well-earned time off. And it seems that our clients feel the same way, as we’ve been noticing more and more “out of office” replies in our inboxes. It’s easy to lose focus when your clients are out enjoying the summer weather, but it’s important not to get distracted. If you find yourself temporarily out of touch your contacts, use these tips to stay productive.

Time for an Upgrade – Software updates can be time consuming, and often get pushed back indefinitely. Not to mention, that server still needs to be cleaned up. Who has time for any of that? Well you do now! You could even test some new hardware or software. If things don’t go as planned, you’ll have more of a buffer to rectify any problems.

Take Account – With your clients out of town, now would be a good time to focus on internal operations. Unfortunately for most, this could mean catching up on overdue accounting. For those who are up to date, take this opportunity to do some analysis. Balance your costs against job estimates. Are you maintaining your margins? Do you need to modify your quoting?

Build Your Brand – When you’re focusing on building your client’s brands all day, sometimes your own doesn’t receive the attention it deserves. Treat yourself like the client for a change. Assess your current standing in terms of brand guidelines and identity. Simple changes to things like your Facebook or Twitter banners can promote continuity and credibility in your brand. You don’t need to set out on a full rebranding mission to make a difference.
