Try selling winter’s picturesque beauty and peaceful serenity somewhere else; we’ve had about as much as we can handle on the east coast the last couple of months. All the complaining about wintry conditions, horrible commutes and freezing temperatures is done with good reason: adverse weather can negatively impact productivity and efficiency. Working from home is a great temporary solution, but only if it’s done properly. Stick to your typical daily routine, avoid distractions, stay in contact with clients and colleagues, and (strangely enough) get dressed in your typical work attire. With only periodic breaks to admire the snow, you’ll find that you’re able to get as much work done at home as you are in the office. And without having to struggle through another winter storm.
