This year marks the 4th annual Facebook Awards, occurring just before the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Both are opportunities for the ad world to come together and recognize its top creative work throughout the year. Here are 3 of the top Facebook Campaigns this year:
“Like a Girl” – Proctor & Gamble
The Always feminine hygiene brand addressed the stereotypes of what it means to “act like a girl”, while not only raising awareness for Always but encouraging young girls to embrace themselves and their strengths. A recent study shows that after watching the video, 76% of girls ages 16-24 no longer see the phrase “like a girl” as an insult.
“KISSaLOT-The World Under the Mistletoe” – LOT Polish Airlines
This airline hung mistletoe on their planes and told viewers to track its flights and kiss when they were overhead. The Facebook Ads were targeted at people in different cities around the world when the planes were en route. This campaign increased plane ticket sales by 5% in the following quarter.
“Ice Bucket Challenge” – The ALS Association
This campaign created a very significant moment in online marketing, while raising incredible awareness and $200 million for ALS, according to Adweek.
